Today is Safer Internet Day

08-02-2011 09:35:00 2011 edition of the DBI is entitled "The Internet is more than game. It's your life." The action is intended to concentrate on the infuse and consequences of children online activities.

DBI mainly initiate local activities that engage children, young people and teachers. They show the dangers of the virtual world and teach how to protect online privacy, take care of own image and have regard to safety. This action is particularly important because of the widespread ignorance about the consequences of publishing information on the network and the lack of parental control over children activity online.

Safer Internet Day established the European Commission in 2004. The project aims to promote efforts to secure access of children and young people to the Internet.

Announced in 2016, covers a broad variety of topics and will go into effect as a requirement on May 25, 2018. GDPR applies to any company doing business in Europe even if it is located elsewhere.
