First, the only thing that SSL installation requires is a dedicated IP address. If you already have SSL on your website you have nothing to worry about, if this is your first time then double check with your hosting company to confirm that your website is currently using a dedicated IP.
The second step is to purchase the SSL certificate and generate the Certificate Signing Request (CSR). Once you have purchased the certificate you will be prompted to generate a CSR file. You can do this by simply following the steps needed to purchase your SSL certificate.
Finally the last step is to obtain the CRT file from the certificate authority which will be sent to you after have purchased the SSL certificate and the CSR file is submitted. Once you have the CRT file simply inform your hosting company via live chat, support ticket etc. and they will finish the rest of the installation process.
